VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Dear Volunteers,
The 5th Borneo International Marathon will be taking place again in KK on Sunday, 6th May 2012. Making this event a success relies on the assistance of the community and the efforts of individuals who have the desire and pride to showcase the friendliness and beauty of Kinabalu and Sabah to the world.
So, we hope you will support this significant event!
The following categories of volunteers are needed :
1. REGISTRATION
During the week leading to 6th May 2012
- Assembling of runner kits 4th – 5thth May 2012
During the day of 4th to 5th May 2012
- Race pre-registration and distribution of runner kits
- Information counter
2. MEDICAL SUPPORT
6th May 3.00AM to 1.00PM
- First Aid
- Assistance to medical personnel at first aid points
- Spotters, looking for runners in stress
3. LOGISTICS SUPPORT
6th May from 2.00AM onwards
- Delivery of water supplies and tables, distance markers, signages
- Delivery of equipment, prizes, medals, t-shirts etc to stadium (Please let us know should you be able to provide us with a truck, pick up or van)
4. AT THE STADIUM
Setting up on 5th May from 6.00PM onwards / Manning on 6th May 3.00AM onwards
- Setting up computerised timing system
- Marshalling runners at start and finish line
- Start/finish logistics
- Distribution of medals,chip deposit return,bag drop area
- race results and prize giving
- VIPs,protocol and press
5. ON THE ROAD
6th May from 2.00AM to 11.00AM
- Set up barriers and traffic cones
- Collection and clean up when race completed
- Marshalling runners on the race track, junctions and turnaround point
6. DRINK STATIONS
6th May from 3.00AM to 11.00AM
- Drinks stations at every 1.5 km of race route
- Ensure enough water and 100Plus throughout race
- Pour drinks into cups in advance and hand out to runners
- Collect used cups
- Hand out sponges
7. CROWD SUPPORT
6th May from 4.30AM to 11.00AM
- Crowd Support and motivators
- Cheerleaders
- Bands / performers along route

Email info@borneomarathon.com and indicate the category you prefer to register your participation. The selection of volunteers for various positions will be done on a “first come, first serve” basis. All volunteers will receive a Race Volunteers Pack, with assorted vouchers, t-shirts and a light meal.
