
SERI MENGASIH CENTRE
Seri Mengasih Centre is a special developmental centre which provides a comprehensive range of training programmes for the intellectually disabled and services for their families. The centre was established in 1981 as the first special school in the state of Sabah for children whose special requirements could not be met in mainstream schools. Proceeds for Seri Mengasih will be channeled towards building a Snoezelen Room to provide a multi-sensory experience for the children by using lights, atmosphere, sounds, scents and textures to stimulate their senses.

EMMANUEL HOMES, KUDAT
Emmanuel Homes offers underprivileged and orphaned children (currently 63) from very poor backgrounds, the opportunity to be able to attend school. Emmanuel Homes is run by a handful of volunteers. The facilities are very basic, all monies donated would go towards operating costs of the homes. Emmanuel Homes is also in the process of trying to raise money for a minibus and all excess money will be channeled towards achieving the purchase of the much needed bus.

BORNEO CHILD AID SOCIETY
Borneo Child Aid Society is running 105 learning centres in Sabah for more than 8000 children of plantation workers as well as children from the Bajau Laut ethnic group and from other underprivileged families. Most of these children have no other access to education and would most likely be child labourers without any education. The support will be used to improve conditions and classrooms for the children.

FOOD FOR THE HUNGRY INTERNATIONAL– Sabah, Malaysia
FHI vision is on Community Projects : in helping underprivileged children from Kota Marudu for Child Development program, medical and dental assistance and food supplements. Their other projects include in helping villages to have clean water for drinking and organizing trainings for micro enterprise such as farming/agriculture, handicraft, virgin coconut oil, coconut husk broom making and women’s cooking classes using local vegetables and resources.

HUTAN
HUTAN, is an NGO working on orang-utan research and conservation in Sabah. HUTAN has been in Sabah for more than 11 years and is based in Kampung Sukau along the Kinabatangan River. Besides their groundbreaking work on orang-utan’s, they have long been working with the local community in Kampung Sukau. BIM contribution will be channeled to this local community who has been working hand-in-hand with HUTAN to conserve the natural habitat of wildlife in the lower Kinabatangan area under HUTAN Kinabatangan Conservation Project KOCP.

BEFRIENDERS
BEFRIENDERS is a non-profit organization with its main objective in helping people going through a difficult time. The BEFRIENDERS offers friendship and emotional support by listening to them empathically at time of depression and to prevent suicide.

PEMADAM Sabah
Persatuan Mencegah Dadah Malaysia or PEMADAM is established to implement drug prevention programmes in the country. Its vision is to create Sabah society free of drugs by the year 2015 and its mission is to increase knowledge and awareness in the society about the dangers of drugs.
